Engage, Learn and Enjoy Local Agriculture

Our goal is to inspire students to learn about local agriculture and our natural environment through a hands on experience. Students are able to pick seasonal produce, learn about farming, gain an appreciation for how their food is grown and- most importantly- have fun!

Lineberger's Farm Field Trips

 
Spring/Summer Field Trips: Mid April - July
Fall Field Trips: Mid September - October


Please complete this form HERE to request a field trip to our farm. You will be contacted regarding your request within 3 business days. ​

Our minimum group size is 20 Students. If your group does not meet our minimum group size, you can buy tickets for Farm Field Day. Tickets and information for Farm Field Day can be found in our online store.


Fall Field Trip - $8 per person
  • ​Short Education Story ( approx. 15 min)
  • A pumpkin from the pumpkin patch 
  • Wagon ride around the farm 
  • Playground and picnic shelter access 

Spring/ Summer Field Trips - $7 per person
  • ​Short Education Story (approx. 15 min - 20 min)
  • Quart of pick-your-own fruit
  • Playground and picnic shelter access 

Optional add-ons (per child)-
  • Chicken feed: $.50
  • Homemade cider slushie (small): $2

Lessons:
  • Exploring Seeds (PreK-K)- Spring/Summer Only
    • ​Students will learn about the basic needs of seeds and use observation to classify different seeds based on observable properties.
      • PS.K.1.1, LS.K.1.1, LS.K.2.2
  • The Pumpkin Story (PreK-K)- Fall Only
    • ​Students will learn about the journey of a pumpkin from planting to harvest. 
      • ESS.K.1.3, LS.K.1.1, LS.K.2.2
  • Weather Wonderers (2nd & 5th)
    • Learn about the importance of weather for farmers and the instruments we use to measure and predict weather on our farm.

      • ESS.5.1.1, ESS.5.1.2, ESS.5.1.4
  • The Dirty World of Soil (1st, 3rd -4th & 6th)
    • Examine the properties and components of our soil and explore its importance on our farm.

  • Watching Our Water (8th)
    • Students will learn about the importance of maintaining our water supply and the steps we can take as stewards of our water.
